What this website collects

pulsarmods.com is a static site on Cloudflare Pages. To serve the page and to block abuse, Cloudflare sees your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and which page you asked for.

We count visits with Umami, an open-source analytics tool we host ourselves. For each page you view it records the page, the site that sent you, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language, and your approximate location (country, region and city) worked out from your IP address. It sets no cookie and does not store your IP address. We keep this for 25 months.

We also count one thing ourselves. If you search the supported games and nothing matches, we count that search, and we count a request if you press Request it. We keep the search text, how many times it was searched or requested, and when it was first and last seen. Nothing else: not your IP address, not a cookie, nothing that tells one visitor from another.

Besides Umami's, the scripts on the page pick the download button and install steps for your operating system, pause an animation while it's off screen, and search the games list. None of the site's scripts stores anything in your browser.

If we add another service, this page changes first, and says which service and what it stores. Anything that needs consent in the EU or UK will ask for it before it runs.

Your email address

If you give us your email address, by joining a mailing list, creating an account or writing to us, we store it and may use it to send you release announcements, product news and occasional information about paid features. Every message includes a one-click unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your address entirely at any time by writing to the contact address below.

We do not sell your email address, rent it, or share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Accounts

This release of Pulsar has no accounts and doesn't need one. Some planned features will. When they ship, this page changes first, and you'll be told what you're signing up for at the point you sign up.

What the Pulsar app sends

The desktop app runs on your machine. It has no account system and no usage telemetry in this release. It makes network requests in three situations, all of them to fetch something rather than to report something:

• Update checks. Pulsar asks GitHub, where its releases are published, whether a newer version exists. That request necessarily reveals your IP address and the version you are running to GitHub, under GitHub's own privacy policy. It reaches no server of ours, because there is no server of ours.
• Mod catalog and downloads. When you browse or install a mod, Pulsar talks to Thunderstore's public API and download servers on your behalf, under Thunderstore's terms.
• Mod artwork. Package icons shown in the app are fetched from Thunderstore and cached locally.

Pulsar does not send us your mod list, your profiles, your save files, your game library or any identifier for your machine. If usage telemetry is ever added, it will be opt-in with a clear first-run disclosure, never on by default.

Third parties

Several services are involved in delivering Pulsar to you, each governed by its own privacy policy: Cloudflare (site hosting), GitHub (download and update distribution), and Thunderstore (the mod catalog). Typefaces are served from this site itself, so no font CDN sees your visit.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, and to object to its processing. Write to the address below and we will act on it.

Children

Pulsar is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us their information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

This notice changes as Pulsar does, especially when accounts and paid features arrive. Material changes are noted in the changelog rather than made quietly, and the date at the top always reflects the current version.
